The spirits help Scrooge to examine the failings and errors of his own life. He is also made to examine the optimism and bravery of Bob Cratchit, who was his ill treated but the most loyal employee. The story ends with how Scrooge finally reforms. He ultimately becomes a respected and well loved person who learns to keep the spirit of Christmas alive in his heart.
The movies since being aired in 1984, has been widely popular. It was sponsored by IBM and the film was shot in Shrewsbury, England. Though the movie was first aired in United States Television, the theatrical version of it was first released in Great Britain in the same year.
