  • Another Maltese tradition is to sow grain, wheat, canary seeds on cotton buds around five weeks before Christmas. The cotton buds with seeds on them are put in dark corners of the house and when Christmas is about to arrive the seeds start developing shoots. These are then used to decorate the crib.
  • Most schools in Malta hold some sought of a Christmas concert in which all the children take part. Children sing Christmas carols and other poems on this concert. Both teachers and children enjoy this festival to the core.
  • Exchanging gifts is another Christmas tradition in Malta. People of all age groups exchange gifts with their loved ones.
