Child Halloween Costume – Keep it Neat and Interesting on Halloween

Children love Halloween. It’s spooky, therefore it’s exciting. Children love to dress up in fancy costumes. There are plenty of online stores that provide Child Halloween Costumes in good, reasonable prices. You can also look for Child Halloween Costume ideas on the web and improvise to make an interesting costume for your child.

The most common Child Halloween Costumes are:

  • Witch and Wizard – This is easy if your child already has clothes in black color. Additionally, invest in a black cape, witch’s nose, a pointed hat and a broom. You can also buy a wild wig for your child to make things look real.

Both boys and girls can dress up as witches, although for the boys you can also try the wizard. You will need the black clothes, cape and the pointed hat. Brush white paint on the chin so it resembles a beard. Cut small stars from silver foil to stick on the hat. Take off the witch’s nose and replace the broom with a wand to complete the look.

  • Princess – Halloween is probably the source of every little girl’s dream of becoming a princess. Dressing your daughter as a princess is the easiest. All you need is to invest in a nice, fluffy white, baby pink, baby blue or pale lemon colored dress, tie up her hair (if she has long hair) and accessorize with matching ribbons or a tiara. If your daughter has short hair, make a crown of fresh garden blooms for her head.

If you do not wish to invest in a dress, bring out her Sunday best outfit. However, if you are investing in a dress, make sure she can wear it on other special occasions post Halloween.
If your daughter is dressing up like Snow White, dress your son like a dwarf. Your full-sleeved red, orange or green t-shirt is perfect for the dwarf outfit. Get a matching pointed hat and a small play-lantern to complete his look.

  • Clown – Use lipstick for the mouth and the nose. Use makeup to draw a clown’s face on your child. Dress him up in colorful clothes (polkas for the neck scarf work very well) and let him wear a hat to complete the look.
  • Ghost – A ghost Child Halloween Costume is very common. Let your daughter wear your plain white full-sleeved t-shirt. It should cover her from head to toe. If not, try on dad’s t-shirt. If she has long hair, leave it open and bring a few strands in front to fall over her face to complete the ‘Ring’ look.

For your son, take a plain old white sheet. Cut a hole in the middle big enough to pass his head through. Apply foundation and powder the face white to complete the look.

Avoid the reds for blood smears, too much powder on the lips to make it look white, and kohl around the eyes to make them stand out. Your child should not be scared to look themselves in the mirror.

If you are buying readymade Child Halloween Costumes, make sure they are well fitting and fire-proof. Have a safe Halloween.
