Christmas Party for Children

Arranging a kids Christmas party is one of the most enjoyable things to do since there are no dearth of fun things to do in such a party. You can give free rein to your creativity while planning a kids Christmas party and as long as there are loads of food and games, the children will enjoy it to the hilt.

Party Invitations

The first thing to decide while arranging a kids Christmas party is designing the party invitations. You can make your party invitations resemble a Christmas tree. Using construction paper and other similar crafts material, you can make invitations in the shape of the tree. Write the party details on the inside in colored ink, maybe green or red, to keep the Christmas color theme. Invitations in the shape of gingerbread man are also another option when it comes to hand-crafted party invitations.

Decorations

When it comes to decorations, you can go all out to create a festive party atmosphere during kids Christmas party since children love bright colors and the ornaments. For outdoor decorations, you can use fairy lights, brightly-colored garlands and other ornaments. A decorated Christmas tree is a must, of course. You can also deck the hallways, stairways and the rooms with holly and mistletoe sprigs, jingle bells and lights. Use a colorful table cloth to cover your party table and decorate it with confetti, napkins and paper plates with a holiday theme.

Food

Kids do not need any fancy stuff when it comes to Christmas party food. They like party foods that are fun to eat and festive treats.

You can’t go wrong if you include lots of snack mixes, cupcakes, cookies and finger foods in a kids’ party. You can either make cupcakes at home or get them from a bakery, bake decorated cookies and even turn it into a fun-filled activity the children can indulge in, by making them participate in the decorating the food.

Games

No party will be complete without fun games for the kids to participate in. There are several party games that they can play and the perennial favorite is “Pin the Nose on Rudolph, the Reindeer”. To play it, sketch a reindeer’s outline on construction paper and hang it on a wall. Blindfold the kids and ask them to stick a red dot sticker to the correct place where his nose should be.

“Passing the Parcel” is another popular game where kids are made to sit in a circle and pass a wrapped parcel amongst each other. The game starts when music is played and the child who gets the parcel when the music stops, can unwrap one layer of the parcel and this is repeated until the final gift is revealed (which will be a box filled with candies, sweets and other treats) and distributed among all the kids.

“Searching for the Christmas Star” is yet another fun game that kids can play. Hide several Christmas starts in various parts of the house. Divide the children into various groups and ask them to search for and find all the hidden stars. The group that unearths the maximum number of stars wins.

A perfect end to a kids Christmas party can be by watching a Christmas movie.
