Christmas Party – It’s Time to Party Folks!
It’s that time of the year again. A long series of intimate gatherings, fancy parties and extravagant dinners are due to start in a couple of weeks. Excitement is in the air and people are in the mood to go out and have a good time. You can be a part of their enjoyment too. Start by inviting family and friends over and making sure they have a good time; start by organizing a Christmas Party at home.
Festivities bring out the child in every adult and Christmas is the perfect time to let go. Initiate the fun by holding a Christmas Party for your near and dear ones. Here are 5 steps to planning a great Christmas Party:
1. Theme – A great theme can set the right mood for your party. You can have a black tie dinner party, a cocktail party or a fireside party. People love to dress up during special occasions and Christmas is the time they have all been waiting for. Set the theme for your party and let people doll up accordingly.
Remember, once you have set the theme for your party, your party invitations, decorations, and food should all be in accordance with the theme of your party.
2. Decorations – Choose items for decorations according to your party theme. The Christmas tree is at the center of all Christmas decorations. Few decorations like the wreath, mistletoe, holly, candles, balls and stars are very traditional to Christmas. If there are children invited, Santa Claus boots, hats and cutouts, angels and candy canes can be added to the decorations.
The right kind of illumination is important to create an ambience for your party. If you have chosen a theme like ‘winter wonderland’ for example, blue and white lights are ideal. You could also have silver snowflakes and stars hanging from the ceiling and have confetti placed on the tables.
3. Food – Irrespective of what theme you have chosen for your party, Christmas cookies and eggnog are ‘musts’ at your Christmas Party. Once you have arranged for these two, you could go about preparing dinner (if you are having a dinner party) or appetizers and dips if you are having a cocktail party. A casual family dinner could have you serving a traditional turkey roast, veggie plates and chips.
You will also probably want to serve drinks at your party. These could range from alcoholic to non-alcoholic drinks. If you have children visiting, keep fruity drinks ready.
4. Christmas Party Games – Introducing games in your party is a good way to break the ice among strangers. From traditional card games and gambling to contemporary games like charades, there are several games to choose from. Consider looking up websites for Christmas game ideas and games for children.
5. Invitations – Once your party is planned, it is time to send out the invitations. People get invited to many parties during the holiday season. Send out a written invitation to your friends and families so it stands out. Your invitations need not be too elaborate. A simple card, handwritten preferably, helps add the personal touch and will also be highly appreciated.
Whatever theme, decorations or food you decide for the event, remember to keep your Christmas Party simple and classy.
