Christmas Trade Shows
Christmas Trade Shows are real fun and somehow most of us just can’t wait to be there. The entire season seems to be ecstatically embellished with all the possible goodies and once in a trade show; it feels no less than Alice’s wonderland! I guess the only difference would be the fact that Alice would finally bump into reality. As for us, we could buy and have all that we want!
Christmas Trade Shows are held all over. Generally the organizers of such shows try and make these events a lifetime experience for the visitors. In this endeavour the visitors get to see new things every year. The products, materials, display, theme, music, and everything else is planned for and arranged in a new genre. As such parents, kids and people of all age groups just can’t wait for the carnival every year!
In my experience so far, the ultimate Christmas trade shows are the ones that are arranged in the countryside. Every year I am spellbound to see such dynamic collections and creations. At times it is difficult to believe that the articles put on display or for sale are pieces of indigenous or handmade work. That truly stands way beyond anything that is manufactured.
The genuine Christmas shopping pleasure lies in a family going out all together, buying the best gifts for friends and family, arranging for the gala dinner and pampering oneself with all those things that have been kept aside so long.
I tried making a list of what my closest friends and family would wish for this Christmas? This is what I collected:
An evening gown
Jewellry
Furnishings
Carpet
Accessories of all kinds
Decorative items
Pieces of art work
Microwave oven
Electric blender
A makeup set
A guitar
A book of Christmas carols
A DVD of the entire series of ‘F.R.I.E.N.D.S’
Yes I know that’s quite a list…I wonder how far would I manage. But one thing is for sure. The dinner on Christmas Eve would definitely capture everyone’s heart. I guess that’s the only way to cover up if I am unable to arrange for all the gifts. It is indeed at these times that we really wish for Santa Claus to come over through the chimney with all our precious gifts!!
Well what else could be a grand Christmas shopping pleasure? I was having a chat with Mamma on this and it surprised me to a great extent to learn about her childhood Christmas days. It seems in those times apart from the usual merry making Christmas meant shopping for a lot of fresh food. It was a common trend to shop for all the vegetables, fruits, chicken, sea food, and the like on Christmas morning.
It was on these shopping trips that they would taste new things and have a feast! This is undoubtedly an experience and I guess I too would like trying this sometime!
