Christmas traditions and joyous celebrations
There are many rituals and traditions that surround the festival of Christmas. Christmas is a season to reconnect with friends and family to share joy and happiness. Ideally people send letters and notes along with a card to bond with each other.
One of the most important tasks that people do is to decorate their homes and workplaces. Often new ornaments and pieces are being bought to beautify their homes with the Christmas trees, tinsel, wreaths, ornaments and other décor items.
More than gifts, Christmas is a lot about traditions. One of the treasured Christmas traditions is the torch light parade. The ski patrol, ski school staff and other privileged skiers carry out the torch light parade. These skiers ski down the mountain and perform a variety of designs during travel. Skiing in dark presents a beautiful sight and is a bit different than the one performing the moves. Lighted man is another Steamboat tradition during Christmas. The tradition was started by Claudius Banks in the 1940s. Claudius began skiing from mountain and later his son joined him in 1971.
One of the most personal family Christmas traditions consists of cookie baking. The favorite treats include fudge and peanut brittle. However, several varieties of sugar cookies and other scrumptious sweet treats are also prepared for the occasion. Furthermore, singing acappella while baking cookies also forms a significant part of family tradition.
Once the adornments are placed well, features like tableware and Christmas tree decorations are given an important consideration. Both online retailers and shops sell huge quantity of tree ornaments in varied designs. Reindeer, Father Christmas, sleighs, fairy lights and baubles are among the most favorite items. Edible decorations are also bought by people to eat during the festive period.
Tableware is a big aspect during Christmas. For the big dinner on Christmas Day, people take a festive theme and put candlesticks, a nice tablecloth and the best crockery on show. Luxury crackers are bought to pull during the meal for fun sake. Usually these luxury crackers are sold in multi-packs and are enclosed with little gifts for the guests.
Christmas holidays trails for a month long and the celebration ends on 6th January with the traditional Catholic holiday when the three Wise Men comes to see Jesus. Midnight Mass is also considered important which is followed by a Holiday feast. Father Christmas or the Santa Claus distributes gifts and presents to kids on this joyous day.
