Ghost-o-Meter: Presence of paranormal forces is determined by professional ghost hunters with an advanced device. The aspect of unknown that is associated with this task is an exciting proposition for young kids to delve into this subject as an investigator. They will thus love to build such a device and then use it to hunt down ghosts in their house. Follow these simple steps to build one.

Take a clean paper milk carton, open its bottom and make a rectangular window on the front.

To make it looks like a red screen, tape a piece of red cellophane over the hole from the inside.

Through the opened bottom, place a flashlight inside the carton

Cut another small hole on the front to line up with the switch. This will help you to turn the flashlight on and off from outside of the carton.

Next secure the flashlight to the inside of the carton with duct tape and then close the bottom.

The carton can then be wrapped with aluminum foil, leaving the switch and red screen exposed. Ask the children to write “Ghost-o-Meter” on the front.

Next you should be out with them on a ghost hunt holding the carton out. If the red screen glows while the flashlight is on, it would signify that you found a ghost.

CD Jack-o-Lantern: You can use old or blank CDs instead of paper plates. A black marker can be used to draw a jack-o-lantern face on the CD. Orange acrylic craft paint can be used to color around the eyes, nose and mouth. A few fake leaves and vines can then be taped to the top to complete the look. Next a simple magnet needs to be glued at the back to display it on your refrigerator,

Glowing Eyeballs: Take the creepiest eyeball designs and have your kids paint their own creative designs. After they are done, put superglue on the bottom of each eyeball and glue it to the flat top of a square tea light. You can then set the eyeballs on any place that needs a Halloween touch. The eyeball will glow when you switch the tea light on.
