The German Easter tradition follows the myth of Jesus Christ’s body rising from the dead on the day of Easter, by gaining over the sins of mankind. This is considered as the most important day in Germany and therefore celebrated as holiday following from Good Friday, three days in row. Just a few days before the arrival of Easter in Germany, the households get busy to clean the areas with sparkling effect and decorate their houses with twigs, daffodils, wheat sprouts, grasses, willow, crocuses and bright daffodils. The Easter trees play the major part of the decorations on this day, which is adorned with small gifts like bells, gift wraps and eggs. Nevertheless, the day concludes with a sumptuous meal of delicacies after the rigorous fasting.
