Halloween is perhaps one of those rare festivals which is celebrated only at nights or late evenings. Hence, you rarely see people saying “Halloween Day”. It is usually referred as “Halloween Night”. Halloween Nights have a lot of curiosity and spookiness attached to it. Kids especially love listening to the scary stories. Halloween Night is considered to be the night when the ghosts and witches roam around freely on earth. However, for the kids it is the day to dress up as ghosts and witches and scare people so they can collect some delicious treats. Trick or Treat is an old age tradition that was started to create excitement amongst kids.
Trick or Treat is a very popular activity in U.S.A, Canada, Britain and most parts of Europe. Kids dress in cute looking ghost masks and sing along from house to house collecting treats. The idea is to scare people so they would give them sweets. However, there have been some cases where kids get lost or do not find their way back home. This can be really scary and most kids panic in such situations. Though, Trick or Treat is a fun activity, there are a few measures that you can take for the safety of your child. So, here are a few Halloween Trick or Treats Safety Tips for Parents :-
Trick or Treat basically involves moving from one house to another. Kids are too young and can wander away. It is advised to create a route for them and make them repeat a series of instructions for e.g. always stay in groups, hold hands etc.
Since Mobiles are easily available, you can hand over a mobile to at least one kid. It is safe and the kids will be accessible.
Halloween Parties are very popular which also involves people drinking. Hence, rash driving is possible. Hence, beware that the kids use only foot pathway and only an adult should help them cross roads.
No matter what the costume is, kids must wear only comfortable sports shoes. It will help him walk around easily.
Kids normally like to dress up in their favourite costumes; however it is advised to not hand over any knives, swords or other sharp objects that could harm them.
Hallowen Parties are generally held in the evenings, however for kids trick and treat ,a deadline is very important. Usually, an evening time is preferred for trick and treat. Do not allow kids to wander around in the night. Halloween Night is a joyous occasion and by following these safety tips ,you be assured about the safety of your kids too.
