How to Make Halloween Pumpkin: Beginner’s Guide

Pumpkins are synonymous with Halloween. Halloween Night’s most celebrated character is Old Jack. TheOld Jack character is associated with a carved out Pumpkin. The Old Jack who was not allowed an entry into heaven or hell. He was left to wander around in the streets of earth with a lantern carved out of a pumpkin in his hand. Since Old Jack was a spirit, he would not be seen. However, his lantern carved out of Pumpkin could be seen wandering around the streets. Today, it is considered a legendary story that is a special part of Halloween Night. The Pumpkin Lanterns have become a very important symbol of Halloween Night. From decorative items to food recipes, there is a lot of significance given to Halloween Pumpkins. In fact, the first image that comes to the mind at the thought of Halloween is the carved out pumpkin. The scary eyes and the vicious smile carved on a pumpkin has become a popular identity for Halloween Night.

To Make Halloween Pumpkins does not require any special skills. Almost anybody can Make Halloween Pumpkins at home. There are various ways to Make Halloween Pumpkin:-

• You will need round and large Pumpkins. It is advised not to buy fresh, ready to cut Pumpkins, Use Pumpkins that are not very ripe.
• Take a Knife and carve out two semi circles or semi triangles (upside down). In case, you have carved out a semi circle, turn the pumpkin upside down and carve out semi circles at the same place again. The two semi circles should look like two round eyes now.
• At the centre of the Pumpkin, just a little below the two round eyes, carve out a triangle. Do not pierce the knife completely while carving the pumpkin. This might lead to a bigger gap. Hence, pierce slightly and carve two slanting lines and one horizontal line to form a triangle. Now simply push the centre of the triangle with the backside of the knife. The triangular part will fall off. It will fall inside the pumpkin but it will not be a hindrance.
• To carve out the vicious smile, you will first need to carve out normal lips. Remember, the lip should be thin. You need to carve out a long banana shape (horizontal) right below the nose. Now, take a small knife and carve out slanting lines from left to right. Turn the Pumpkin upside down and now carve out slanting lines again from left to right on the upper lip portion.

There are many forms of Pumpkin Art. This is one of the most basic forms. However, it will not take very long before you realize how to carve out other forms of Pumpkins too. Almost every form of Pumpkin is easy after you have learnt the basic form.
