Mother Mary- Mother of mankind!

“Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed are thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus, Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.- Amen”

Mary Mother, the mother of Lord Jesus has many titles. She has emerged all through the world to the most modest people giving them all the same message:

“Do Whatever Jesus tells you to do”

“Pray unceasingly”

“Live as Jesus asked you to live.”

“Ask Forgiveness for your sins.”

Mother Mary, the “Saint Mary” and “Our Lady”. As per the traditional title used by the Christians Mother Mary is called the Blessed Virgin Mary. This title is particularly used by the liturgical Christians like Anglicans, Roman Catholics, Eastern Catholics, Eastern Orthodox and Lutherans.

From the first century, dedication and commitment towards Virgin Mary or Mother Mary has been a most important element of the holy life for the Christians, chiefly the Catholicism. Since the Council of Ephesus to Vatican II and Pope John Paul II’s encyclical Redemptoris Mater, Saint Mary has come in view both as the Mother of the Church and the Mother of God.

According to the Christian belief, the chief role of Virgin Mary, the growth of Mariology and her worship have not only come about by the official statements or the Marian writings of the saints but also has come up from the miracles and masses of believers.

Where was Mary Mother born?

An eminent custom and practice says that Mother Mary was the daughter of Ann and Joachim who was born in Jerusalem. Some other early sources said that “Our Lady” was born in Nazareth. You will also get a primeval record where it points to Sepphoris as her birthplace. It is a town which lies a few miles from Nazareth. It was heard that the life of Mary Mother was likely outspread in the restrained Jewish settlement of the Nazareth. The Jews were tough and strong people. The hill climate seemed nourishing and dry. However the lack of water problem spoiled the crops thereby making people face uncertainty on a larger scale. All these made the Galilee people more cohesive and hard-working and thus stressing for a living extend their religious belief.

It was a war-torn land at that point of time. Some became conservative, some became dominant but Mary and the few other people who believed in the power of God made themselves strong. She was always noticed in a different way for her complete belief in the Almighty’s power.

The “Blessed Virgin Mary”, “Our Lady”, “Saint Mary” is our Model of Mercy and Love who intervened with her son Jesus to protect the mankind. Mother Mary serves as an ideal illustration of parenthood for our world.
