Recipe for Gingerbread Corpses

The recipe for gingerbread corpses is quite simple and the ingredients readily available. Gingerbread corpses are ginger flavoured cookies that are easy to make, store and relished by all.
The ingredients used for preparing gingerbread corpses include;
- All purpose flour
- Ground ginger
- Ground cinnamon
- Molasses
- Cream Shortening
- Egg
- Baking soda
- White sugar
- Salt to taste
- Raisins for decoration
- Warm water
For preparing the corpses of gingerbread men all you need to do is to mix in a large bowl shortening cream, one cup of molasses, one egg and half a cup of white sugar. Add to this mixture baking soda (dissolved in warm water). Beat well.
Now add half a cup of all purpose flour, one and a half teaspoons of ground ginger and the same quantity of cinnamon. Add salt to taste and blend well.
The mixture needs to be chilled for 24 hours.
Roll out the chilled mixture into dough and using gingerbread man cookies cutters cut out the dough into shapes of gingerbread men. Lay out the shapes on cookie sheets leaving a gap of at least 2 inches between them.
Pre heat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. The baking is to be done for 10 to 15 minutes and your gingerbread men shaped cookies are ready to be savoured.
The above recipe for gingerbread corpses is simple and easy to make. You may even take the assistance of kids in preparing the cookies as the little ones simply love to be active in the kitchen. If you are throwing a Halloween party, then gingerbread corpses should definitely be added in your party menu. They are relished by one and all.
