Santa Mrs Claus or Mrs. Santa Claus is a fantasy movie starring Angela Lansbury, Michael Jeter, Charles Durning and few others. The movie was released in 1996 and was directed by Terry Hughes.

Mrs. Santa Claus was a television musical that had Angela Lansbury starring as the wife of Santa Claus. The musical score of the movie was composed by Jerry Herman who was the celebrated Broadway composer of famous musical hits like Hello, Dolly!

It is a Christmas movie that was given a touch of a fantasy land. The movie is about the Christmas proceedings being organised by Mrs. Santa Claus while Santa Claus her husband is busy with his own plans.

The movie shows that while Santa Claus is busy with the celebration and festivities of Christmas, Mrs. Santa Claus decides go for a short ride on the reindeer sleigh. When is goes for the drive she finds herself being left behind in the lower east side of the Tum in that century. She is thus forced to land in New York as she is stranded there after one of the reindeer becomes injured

Being left stranded there, Mrs. Santa Claus takes up board with an immigrant Jewish family as Mrs. North. This Jewish family they do not celebrate Christmas. Over a period of time she befriends many of the locals there.

Thus, gradually Santa Mrs. Claus becomes involved with the various political issues of the time like women’s suffrage and child labour.

The movie is undoubtedly a fantasy piece. It is a lovely movie that showcases the family side and picture of Father Christmas. In the movie, Santa Claus, portrays a fun loving and jovial picture of Christmas and Mrs. Santa Claus as the wife of Father Christmas, on the other hand,shows her magical charm. This magical charm shown during the Yuletide period definitely adds glory to the whole Christmas celebrations.
