Tips for Safe Halloween Trick-or-Treating

Trick-or-Treat? These words are magical during the festive season of Halloween. Kids spend ample amounts of time thinking about the types of Halloween trick-or-treating they are going to perform or receive from the neighbourhoods.
Before suggesting you on some safe “Halloween Trick or Treating Tips”, let me explain to you a few words about Halloween.

Halloween is a fun filled popular event of the West, which is celebrated during the end of October or at the beginning of November every year.  It is mainly the 31st day of October that the people celebrate as Halloween. However, the celebration mostly continues some more days of the week following in most of the places.

It has been not clear at all about the origin of this Halloween festival. According to ancient traditions, cultures and beliefs, Halloween is the night when spirits rise from the dead and come back to the earth.

During this event, kids and young adults dress themselves up in scary costumes and makeups to match the ancient beliefs of Halloween. Various costumes of skeletons, princess, witches, magicians, ghosts, demons are sold by the shops and there is a huge rush for these costumes to buy by the kids.

The streets and houses are decorated with a special type of lantern made from pumpkin known as Jack-O-Lantern. These are also seen hanging from trees, lampposts in streets and from doors, balconies, corridors in houses. It is also said that without Jack-O-Lantern, Halloween cannot be identified from another common day and is totally incomplete.

Various parties, events and contests occur during the eve of Halloween in plaza, food courts, pubs and even in residential buildings. People celebrate while distributing cakes, pizzas, cookies and candies during this evening among friends and neighbours.

Wonderful fireworks shows are also organized to make the Halloween night much brighter. Other than this, bonfires can be seen on different parts of the streets.

What about Trick or Treat?

Well, I am coming to it. The kids mostly go out with their Halloween makeup on to the neighbourhoods and knock the doors of the neighbours. When someone from inside the house asks for who is knocking, then the kids spell out “Trick-or-Treat?” The neighbours generally says “Treat” and gifts the kids with different sort of candies and cookies.

Always try to assist your kids while they go out for “trick or treat”. Although there may be no scope of danger at your neighbourhood, but it’s not safe at all to let your kids go alone out of the house during a night.

It is necessary to buy your kids proper Halloween costumes according to the weather conditions otherwise you will end up in destroying the fun of the Halloween night.

Also make the kids understand that even during the Halloween nights, is not safe to talk to the strangers they find on the road outside.
